The Directorate of Economic Policy Advisory Services is responsible for providing high-quality economic analysis, research, and policy recommendations to the Minister of Finance and the Government as a whole.
The Directorate monitors macroeconomic developments, produces fiscal and economic reports, and advises on appropriate macroeconomic and fiscal policy frameworks to support Namibia's development objectives.

Fiscal Strategy
The Fiscal Strategy contains analysis of the current macroeconomic environment in Namibia, the fiscal outlook for the coming year, and the policy measures the Government will implement to achieve its economic objectives. This document provides the overarching framework for the annual budget process.

Financial Institutions and Markets Act, 2021
The Financial Markets framework under Namibia’s Financial Institutions and Markets Act, 2021 regulates the trading, investment, and supervision of non-banking financial activities, including securities, investment products, retirement funds, insurance, and related financial services. Effective from 1 May 2026, the Act strengthens investor protection, market transparency, and regulatory oversight to support a stable and modern financial sector in Namibia.
